Ganjisha is an 18‑month nationwide youth empowerment program designed to equip young Kenyans with practical digital content creation skills, confidence, and pathways to income generation. Funded by Google.org and implemented by the Africa Digital Media Foundation (ADMF) and Digital Opportunity Trust Kenya (DOT Kenya), the program targeted opportunity youth aged 18–30 across all 47 counties.

Why Ganjisha?

Kenya’s youth are active online, yet many lack the technical, creative, and business skills needed to turn content creation into sustainable livelihoods. Ganjisha bridges this gap by offering hands‑on training, mentorship, and community‑based learning led by trained Community Leaders in every region.

What the Program Delivered

  • Practical content creation skills: videography, photography, design, and mobile production
  • Social media strategy, branding, and algorithm‑ready content techniques
  • Business and financial literacy, including pricing, monetization, and entrepreneurship
  • Personal development: confidence‑building, goal‑setting, communication, and storytelling
  • Peer learning, mentorship, and masterclasses with established Kenyan creators

A Launchpad for Youth Opportunity

Ganjisha has opened doors for thousands of young creators—helping them build confidence, develop market‑ready skills, and turn digital creativity into real economic opportunity. By investing in practical digital skills and grassroots mentorship, the program is shaping a new generation of Kenyan storytellers, creatives, and digital entrepreneurs.
